From his point of view…
Creativity is not your talent! What comes before talent are things far more important and valuable:
- The ability to listen. Too many creatives love to hear themselves talk.
- Be relentless. Keep searching for the next big idea; it is a chase that never ends.
- Think like a kid. Never grow up! Color outside the lines, look at things upside down.
- Always be curious. Never stop. This will make you better and better.
- Curb your ego. We are never as good as we think we are. Keep a leash on it.
- Be humble. Learn from others and take responsibility for your mistakes.
- Instill excitement. Paint the verbs, not the nouns.
So creativity is actually not a talent. It comes from and develops from more than one action. The talent you have now and the talent you will have in the future is all up to you.
